Short Description of Activity
Another rally against the Trump Administration, specifially his holding a military parade on this 79th birthday so he can fit in with Korea, Russia and China and their parades. The signage was pretty varied to address not only no kings, but saving medicare, social security; ICE and immigration issues/concerns; selling off of our public lands; the harassment of people of color, etc.
Reflection/Evaluation
Bend had the biggest turn-out ever, 4,000 people. The other cities, communities around Bend also had great turn-outs. Some of the more marginalized communities still had 100 – 150 people show up. We had speakers at the local park and then marched thru downtown to a corner on main roads called peace corner. All was peaceful and did not experience any folks on the opposite side. Again it was a hot day, but the turn-out was not deterred by the heat.
