Short Description of Activity
Presentation by County employees and ODFW regarding mapping of Sage Grouse in Eastern Oregon.
Reflection/Evaluation
Remapping of two specific groups of sage grouse east of Bend. Two years ago the County Commissioners did not want to know this information, but were more open and had a lot of questions. Their questions were obvious that they have not done their homework regarding this species or understand the importance of their protection in this area. Currently the area where these species are located is where there is potential plans for the new landfill. My hope is that when further discussions with location of this landfill they will take this new information into account.
