Short Description of Activity
I met with Henry Dahl, legislative assistant to Congressman Mike Simpson (R-ID). I explained the importance of public lands to this community for recreation, mental health, water supply, wildlife habitat. He was receptive and well-aware of the issue. He assured me that Rep. Simpson would not vote for the Budget Reconciliation bill if it included sales of public lands.
Reflection/Evaluation
This was a very last-minute meeting. Dahl’s visit had not been well-publicized and I only heard of it an hour beforehand. I was glad I went; it’s always good to practice advocacy!
