Reflection/Evaluation
The hike was in a beautiful area along the McKenzie river east of the Cascade Mts. which burned heavily in 2021. While the leader of the hike was very knowledgable about plants, etc. what Mathieu and I discovered about half way thru the hike we were not getting what we thought the hike was all about – what different kinds of fires due to an area. There was some areas heavily burned but most was mosaic. The wild flowers and plants definitely came back, but again there were no aha’s or new information for us.
