Short Description of Activity
5-1-2025 Used my outdoor voice to rally May Day Strong marchers and educate them about how Co Green Amendment could be used to fight renewed interest in uranium mining.
5-10- 2025 and 5-17- 2025 I emailed State Senator Cleave Simpson and Representative Katie Stewart about how Co Green Amendment could be used to fight renewed interest in uranium mining ahead of a Cortez Community Meeting. I talked to them before the meeting and shared information, asked for support for a CO Green Amendment during the meeting, and followed up by email afterward. I was quoted in the Cortez Journal and Rep Katie Stewart said she sponsors constituents to talk at the State House meetings to educate Representatives about issues by Zoom or in person.
6-12-2025 CO Green Amendment Zoom
6-14-2025 Tabled at a local protest.
8-1-2025 and 8-5-2025 Prep and Presentation for Conservation Colorado and other environmental groups.
Reflection/Evaluation
We are in the education phase of introducing CO Green Amendment to the public to gain support from our state representatives. The hundreds of people I’ve spoken to are excited about a state Constitutional Right to clean air, water, and healthy lands. Our state representatives seem like they are more tuned into corporate supporters and the many other problems from the federal level are pushing environmental concerns to the back burner for them. I will keep contacting Rep Katie Stewart in hopes of a sponsorship opportunity.
