Great Old Broads for Wilderness Announces Reba Elliott as New Executive Director

Durango, CO—Following a national search, Great Old Broads for Wilderness is excited to announce that Reba Elliott is its new Executive Director.

For over 35 years, Great Old Broads for Wilderness, the national conservation organization led by older women, has worked fearlessly to protect the public lands and waters Americans love. The organization is resolved to bring its strengths to bear on today’s unprecedented challenges to the bedrock conservation and environmental laws and regulations that protect America’s remaining wild places.

As the new Executive Director, Reba will lead the organization’s members in boldly charting a path forward together.

Reba brings over a decade of experience in building grassroots movements to protect our planet. She most recently provided leadership and strategic planning for a faith-based environmental organization with over 700 member organizations and 19,000 certified volunteers around the globe.

I see that spirit come to life at Great Old Broads for Wilderness,” says Reba. “This movement is infused with a pragmatic determination to protect the lands and waters we love–with the sense of humor that comes from overcoming tough challenges together. I’m honored to learn and grow alongside its members as we navigate this critical moment for our planet.”

“Reba brings a wealth of environmental advocacy experience, organizational expertise, and passion to the Executive Director position,” says LD Delano, Board Chair, Great Old Broads for Wilderness. “We’re very excited that she will be leading us forward in this challenging time for wild public lands and waters.”
