July 10 | Book Club: “Born of Fire and Rain: Journey into a Pacific Coastal Rain Forest” (Polly Dyer Seattle Broadband, WA)

Date:

July 10, 2025

Time:

7:00 PM (Pacific)

Via Zoom

You are invited to join the Polly Dyer Seattle Broadband (WA) on Thursday, July 10 at 7:00 PM for their monthly Book Club to discuss Born of Fire and Rain: Journey into a Pacific Coastal Rain Forest, by ML (Peg) Herring, who will join the discussion via Zoom.  Peg is Emerita Professor at Oregon State and a member of Great Old Broads for Wilderness.
Willamette Valley Broadband Leader Chandra LeGue writes,  “In the book, Peg takes readers on an imagined field trip into the fire-born, rain-soaked forests of western Oregon and Washington, and some of the countless upheavals they have survived for millennia, including the age of modern industrial forestry that began in the 20th century.  Now, as policies that implement environmental laws are being revised and the public is being asked to comment on sweeping changes to federal forest management, it is more essential than ever for us to understand how complex forest ecosystems actually work. This compelling read will prepare you for this important advocacy.”
Please make Born of Fire and Rain your first summer read and plan to join us on Thursday, July 10th at 7 pm for a provocative discussion with the author. Hope to see you then!
