Reflection/Evaluation
Our speaker was Sean Roome, Campaign Manager for “No Place for a Mine” with Cascade Forest Conservancy. Sean presented a slide show about the impacts of the exploratory drilling if permitted to the water quality, recreation, and fishing to the region. Laurie had already signed on our chapter but Sean is wanting more Washington Leaders to also sign on. Laurie will send out information about the sign on letter to the other Washington leaders. Heidi spoke about the fossil fuel ban for the city of Vancouver and Susan spoke about the bird friendly buildings campaign in Vancouver as well as Pumice Plain. Laurie presented on the advocacy for DNR lands to protect legacy trees in timber sales on Washington private lands. The agenda is below. Attendees also agreed to sign the postcards and send them in. Some wanted to also join the hike to the Pumice Plain with CfC to see where the mine planned.
