Short Description of Activity

We met up with several of our Las Cruces GOB members at City of Rocks State Park for visiting and sharing ideas, hiking, and conducting our monthly steering committee meeting. This way we were able to let our Las Cruces members know the latest on our upcoming events or efforts and get their input. Before and after our potluck picnic meeting we stretched our legs with pleasant walks along the Cienega Trail and then through the iconic rock formations of City of Rocks State Park. One of the hike highlights was sharing the cienega briefly with a gorgeous owl perched above us in the winter trees. (See attached Word file for steering committee notes for the Dec. meeting portion.)

Reflection/Evaluation

It went very well and attendees enjoyed this field trip. Based on this, we will try to do something similar several times a year. It provides the steering committee with an interesting change of venue while providing a chance for our Las Cruces members to more easily join us.
